Improve Your Indoor Air Quality
A low-quality or poorly-maintained HVAC system can make your indoor air quality in Argyle worse. Regular HVAC tune-ups and a premium filter can make a big difference. You may also want to have your ducts professionally cleaned and install a whole-house air purifier.
We advise scheduling seasonal maintenance twice a year. Book a cooling tune-up in early spring and a heating tune-up in early fall. During that appointment, we’ll clean all your HVAC equipment to keep your home comfortable year-round.
We also recommend scheduling a duct camera inspection at least every other year. Dust will accumulate in your ducts over time no matter how clean your home is. Our inspection will show us dust build-up and help us also spot issues that lead to air leakage. If there is a significant accumulation, we can vacuum it out and sanitize the ducts.
Often, the simplest and fastest way to improve air quality is through your HVAC filter. The industry uses minimum efficiency reporting value to measure filter effectiveness. The higher the MERV rating, the more particulates the filter will trap. Many modern systems support between MERV 8 and 13. Choose a premium pleated filter with the highest rating your HVAC system allows.
You may want to consider whole-home air purification as well. Our Argyle HVAC team can install an in-duct air scrubber that cleans your conditioned air before it enters your living spaces. There is a wide range of air purifier products. The traditional type has a mechanical filter and activated charcoal. The mechanical filter traps large, fine, and ultrafine particulate matter. The charcoal absorbs odors, gases, and chemicals.
An ultraviolet (UV) lamp is a popular add-on to neutralize bacteria and viruses. We can also install whole-house humidity control. It will make it easier to breathe and avoid respiratory irritation by keeping relative humidity between 30% and 50%.
